Knit Fringe Scarf Vest

Last week, Elissa and I shared our love of all things fall with a nod to the trend of fringe. Captured in the beautiful layering vest (click on the image above to learn more), fringe brings some whimsy and movement to my favorite fall transition piece: the vest!

Because I’m naturally hot natured, it takes some time for my closet to catch up to the weather. Even with a 50 degree afternoon, I’m more likely to opt for a half sleeve and layering piece as opposed to a sweater. Vests make dressing for seasonal changes simple. Appropriate for many varied climates and geographic areas, this piece couples well with tank tops around here in Charleston or long sleeve shirts in the cool mornings of the Pacific Northwest.

Today, I’m sharing three styles of vests below. The first is an active option, perfect for walks around the neighborhood or a trip to the gym. The second affords lightweight warmth, ideal for layering with a long tank and slacks or denim jeans. Finally, I’ve selected a winter weather vest, appropriate for a second layer beneath a winter jacket or atop a thick sweater for snowy days!

What are your favorite types of vests? How do you layer them in the fall? Share your tips with me in the comment section below!
