The temperature is dropping and the layers are building – cold weather is upon us! I am especially convinced of this given the recent increased sniffles in our home and at the office. Changing seasons mean changing environments, a reality for which our bodies often need time and extra TLC!
During the cold weather season, I begin to ramp up my self-care rituals in hopes of warding off anything that might arise from a weakened immune system. Today, I am sharing four tips on staying healthy this winter season. Read on below for more information!
- Layer up (socks included)! When you travel especially, it is important to keep your circulation moving and support overall health with layers of warmth. Keep a pair of socks handy, and of course – gloves if you are in extreme cold outside!
- Wash your hands (and add in some lotion). Cold weather means frequent hand washing. Carry antibacterial gel and/or wash your hands frequently with warm water and soap. Make sure to find a great lotion to add – increased washing can minimize moisture!
- Drink up! To support your overall immune system (and flush out the bad) increase your water intake during the winter season.
- Stay moving, and fuel up. Continued exercise is a great way to warm up the body and increase overall blood flow. Supplement your movement with fruits and vegetables for overall health support.
