I spent Thanksgiving week nestled by the fire with my family and a foot of snow outside our window. While freezing temperatures and endless snow may sound terrible to some, a wintry wonderland with my entire clan…well that’s my idea of pure bliss.

With lows of 10 degrees and highs barely cresting 40, I knew I would need to pack every ounce of warm clothing in my closet. However, I also knew I needed some “walkabout” outfits that would allow me to enjoy dinner as opposed to sweating right through it. So what was my solution for 10 days of snowy mountain weather? Layers!

My go to outfit, just like my momma: black leggings or jeans topped with a sleeveless shirt, warm cardigan, and a softshell jacket. For my personal body temperature tendencies, these layering pieces offered me just enough warmth without leaving me overheated!IMG_9635

We have all of your layering options covered here at National. Choose from as many pieces as you need for your layering puzzle and add on your outerwear jacket – you are ready for a day on the snowy trails!
