Happy Labor Day from Wilmington! I love this holiday – the start of a school year (which feels a bit like a refresh for me). The end of summer (I do not like warm weather). And of course with that…the start of fall.
This weekend, we set sail in the blue waters of the Carolinas and enjoyed all Wilmington has to offer. In celebration of the holiday (and to inspire a future visit from you, my friend), read up on a few of my favorite landing spots in Wilmington.
Just a hop, skip and a jump off the Intracoastal, Bluewater is a beautiful restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. With available boat docking just outside the restaurant, you can cruise the waterways of the area and stop by for a snack on your way back to the marina.
Just across from Bluewater is a Wilmington staple, Dockside. With the best hushpuppies and BLTs in town, you can dock and enjoy lighter fare and great views on the wrap around deck of Dockside.
With a different view of the NC waterways, Downtown Wilmington offers historic charm, cobblestone streets, and an array of shopping and restaurants to charm your way into a longer stay. Peruse the various side streets packed with crepe myrtles and azalea bushes, and make your way back to the waterfront for a delicious meal.
