I have big news. I managed to cook a Thanksgiving meal – all by myself! Thanks to a favorite chef and author, Danielle Walker, I was able to create my first brined turkey, three side dishes and gravy (all with the kiddos squawking with joy)…
Our daughter particularly loved the turkey and sweet potato dish, and my husband remarked that it was the best turkey he’s had to date (gasp. I am undone). Overall, while a bit different in the number of folks at our table and the lack of travel, it was a really precious Thanksgiving and one I will remember forever.
Over the next few weeks, I am going to share favorite recipes for holidays meals, including the details behind my turkey brine (and the adjustments I made after seeing how quickly the turkey crisped).
