We spent the first two years of our marriage in Chapel Hill, NC – home of the Tar Heels (and countless childhood memories). While we loved every second of life in “The Thrill,” we spent many weekends on Interstate 40 in search of cooler weather and a change of scenery. You see, that’s the beauty of North Carolina. Just a couple hours west, you’ll find the stunning, mountainous landscape along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Turn east, and within three hours you’re parked on a sandy beach overlooking one of several historic lighthouses.
As I’ve shared with you before, Blowing Rock holds a special place in the hearts of our entire family. My (now) husband and I spent our dating years hiking Grandfather Mountain every chance we got. My sister and brother-in-law married in the town. And many holidays have been spent beneath the canopy of towering pines.
As children, we spent a big portion of our summers in Asheville, NC. Recently, our photography team spent a few days capturing the beauty of this mountain city in preparation for our Fall 2015 catalog!
If you’re planning a visit, add these stops to your list! In every season, the North Carolina mountains offer a stunning escape and perfect vacation.
Wine tours in the Summer and candlelight Christmases in December. Biltmore has it all! Enjoy the expansive grounds in warmer months, or plan a festive holiday getaway in November or December.
