There is no better taste of a vegetable than my husband’s cast iron fried okra…or turkey and tomato sauce….or sautéed steak. I can’t say I’ve mastered cast iron cooking (or skillet care), so I’m searching for tips on recipes and cleaning tips straight from the pros!
In looking up cast iron skillet how-to’s, I found this article from Bon Appetit. What are some of your tricks of the trade to master the perfect meal from this magical kitchen tool? Share them with me in the comment section below!

My mother was from New Orleans and she was one of the best cooks ever! She used a well seasoned wonderful old cast iron skillet to make many a happy childhood memory for me. The best magical trick for your skillet is constant use, and a good wiping with just a kiss form the dishpan!
Had these at a breakfast gathering a few weeks back, can’t wait to try the recipe out for myself. http://www.kitchenscoop.com/recipes/print/banana-pecan-upside-down-pancake It was delicious!
